When you balance, or reconcile, an account, you compare your Quicken. You will need to go to Tools Account List and click Edit next to the account you want to Auto Reconcile. In the Reconcile Online Account window, clear the Auto Reconcile check box. Reconciling Accounts in Quicken for Mac.

- Accepted AnswerIf past transactions changed to unreconciled, you may reconcile them again.
If you want to clear all reconciled transactions, select all the reconciled transactions and Edit > Transactions > Reconcile Status > Cleared. To select all the reconciled transactions, you may find it useful to sort the register by the Cleared (aka Clr) column.5

I've done a couple of reconciliations, one for a bank, and another for a credit card. It was a little tricky as these were transferred accounts from another application. I surprised I don't see any indication in the lists of which are cleared transactions. Is there anyway to see this, or am I looking in the wrong place. Thank you very much.

- edited December 2017In the register there should a small column 'Clr'. There is a small c if it is cleared, and a capital R (plus the transaction font turns from black to grey) if it is reconciled. There is nothing if it is uncleared.
- edited December 2017Thank you very much. Just had to add it to each account. I didn't see a reconciliation column. Perhaps I shouldn't, but I use the terms interchangeably. What's the difference?
- edited December 2017In general, 'Cleared' means the charge has been settled at the merchant. The bank has posted the charge to your account and money has actually changed hands.
'Reconciled' means you have verified the charge against your records.
Most often, a transaction is cleared when you download it from the bank, and then reconciled when you reconcile with your statement at the end of the month. - edited December 2017I see. Thanks very much hawkeye34. I don't use online downloads, preferring to do it manually. The clear column will show items that I reconcile with the statement. - edited December 2017This post is categorized as Mac. It is not clear if you are using a Mac or Windows version. The icons in the CLR column for Mac are different than those described above. On Mac, you will see an open box for uncleared, a blue square check mark for cleared, and a green circle checkmark for reconciled.Quicken Mac Subscription; Quicken Mac user since the early 90s
